MSA’s new G1 is the technology platform for the future of SCBA

Posted on December 13, 2016 by

At first glance, Self-contained Breathing Apparatuses and smart phones might not seem to have much in common. A smart phone is more than a way to call home, however, and it’s more than a pocket-sized computer.  It is a technology platform, a machine that can be updated with software as technology evolves, and MSA’s G1 SCBA is as well.

The G1 uses integrated technology to allow for future expansion. Instead of new add-ons that add bulk and weight, the G1 is designed to be updated by software, keeping first responders protected by the latest technology as it is developed while keeping the apparatus lean, durable, and integrated.

When you buy a competitor’s product, you buy a product that is immediately dated.  When you buy a G1, you invest in a product designed to be up-to-date now matter how quickly technology develops.

Watch this short video to learn how MSA turned the equipment requests of the country’s fire services into the new generation of respirator technologies.
